BMC™ – Black Maus Coating

BMC is a highly effective alternative to Teflon™(PTFE) coatings and conventional release agents and offers the following key features:

• Combines the permanent release functions of PTFE with the controllability of semi-permanent release agents.
• Available in standard, matt, metallic and ceramic coatings.
• Can be supplied on new moulds or be used to refurbish existing moulds.

Benifits

• Saves money

Gives an old mould a new lease of life reducing wastage
Enhances mould function and reduces waste:

•Material flow improved
•Heat transfer improved
•Uniform material wall thickness
•Reduced warpage and distortion
•Controlled and uniform shrinkage

Makes moulds last longer

•Mould protected from pigment leaching
•Eliminate sticking and safeguard mould from damage from manual removal of part
• Extend maintenance intervals
•BMC protects mould when not in use too

Make savings in weeks

•No longer require release agents
•Reduce material requirements because there is less scrap
•Lower shot weights means less material required.

Increases Productivity

• Save time in applying release agents
• No more “stuck-up” mouldings to deal with
• Allows cycle time reductions
• Reduces mould and machine downtime

• Improve quality
• Eliminate pinholes
• Remove “blooming” on surface
• Improve colour density
• Reduce bridging
• Consistency – 1st product same as 500th.

“BMC allows us to keep the tool clean, eliminates the need for release agents and is generally more operator-friendly.”

Ken Fox – Rotational Moulding Senior Supervisor, Numatic.

“Polytank has been using BMC (Black Maus Coating) products on all its steel moulds for over a year. We have achieved a number of benefits from using BMC that include:

Time saved in down tool time for coating moulds with release agent

Perfect external surface finish giving aesthetically pleasing products.

BMC allows material to flow through the mould easily giving better uniform thickness.

Better uniform thickness allows reduction in shot weight and improves our profitability.”

J Gary Fidler – Managing Director, Polytank
